About Me
Greetings! I'm Alvin Tang, a software engineer at Varicent. With a Computer Science degree from the University of Toronto and two internships behind my belt, I have the skills and experience needed to bring software dreams to life. My internships include working in the government sector and at OpenText, where I really developed my skills as a software developer. I also have a proven track record of leadership, having served as the Vice President of Engineering for a team of eight student developers while at LIVE Competition.
During the roll-out of the vaccine, I volunteered as a Lead Developer at Vaccine Hunters Canada, where I designed and built a vaccine searching tool that was used over two million times across Canada. This experience allowed me to combine my technical skills with a desire to make a difference and help others.
When I'm not coding, you can find me rock climbing, kayaking, skiing, or exploring new places. My experiences both in and out of the office have taught me the importance of determination, teamwork, and a drive to succeed. I am constantly seeking new opportunities to grow and make an impact in both my personal and professional life. If you think I am a good match for an opportunity, I would be glad to hear about it.
